What they're doing down south

This is an interesting turn for a comic shop...
groundZero, a west Mobile business dealing in collectible cards, comic books and games, has opened an all-ages music venue called the groundZero Stage.

The goal of the venture, according to promotional materials, is to present live music by local and touring bands to minors who otherwise would have little chance to see such performances.

I thought about trying something like this at Haven several years ago — not creating a standing concert venue, per se, but some of the members of local bands who hung around the store suggested us hosting a concert in the parking lot or something. It never panned out, though.
