Annihilation Prologue – Marvel’s cosmic books are making a come-back, and they’re coming in fast and hitting hard! To get the jump on the big Annihilation event, check out this prologue; it’ll give you everything you need to know before the story blows up in your face and knocks you off your feet. I’ve got very high hopes for this story!

Batman: Year One Hundred #2 – I wasn’t expecting much out of the first issue, but this story just knocked me for a loop. It’s highly reminiscent of The Dark Knight Returns, and it’s got me anxious to read the next issue. If you missed the first part of this kick-butt story, don’t fret; we’ve still got a few copies available. Yeah, Pope’s artwork is weird and is definitely not my favorite, but the story is well worth it. Check this one out!

Conan: Book of Thoth #1 – One of Conan’s oldest enemies returns in this limited series; so climb aboard this bandwagon and enjoy the heck out of what should be a great story. The regular Conan series has been a real breath of fresh air, and I think Dark Horse has finally figured out how to do a Conan book right.

Painkiller Jane #1 – None of the promo materials for this book have hinted much about what’s going on in this book, but most of the reviews I’ve read have been very positive. This book is created by fan favorite Jimmy Palmiotti, so if you’ve liked his stuff before, you’ll probably like it now…Give it a look-see and let me know what you think.

Spike vs Dracula #1 – If you’re a Buffy fan, then you’ve been waiting on this moment for a while. As everyone knows, Dracula has owed Spike five quid for ages. I’m guessing that Spike is coming to collect in this story that pits Bram Stoker’s classic vampire against Joss Whedon’s very different creation. I’ve always wondered: what would a British vampire’s teeth really look like? 

Teen Titans Annual #1 – That’s right; annuals are back! If they’re done right, an annual is a great addition to a favorite monthly title. If they’re done wrong, they come off as just another way that the evil comic book company is trying to squeeze nickels out of you. This is Teen Titans, and the Teen Titans series has been kicking tail and taking names for the past couple of years; cross your fingers and hope that trend continues with this annual. I, for one, am looking forward to it.

Ultimate Extinction #3 – Here comes Ultimate Gah Lak Tus!! At long last, we’re going to find out what the heck the Ultimate version really is. Man, I hope it doesn’t destroy the earth and kill us all! Definitely check this out to see how the FF, X-Men, and Ultimates pull our fannies out of the fire and save our bacon!

X-Men: Apocalypse/Dracula #2 – Ah, the week of Dracula! Like I said before: under normal circumstances, you should run screaming from any crossover that includes Dracula, because, under normal circumstances, it will inherently suck. This series, however, has proven to be the exception. The first issue absolutely rocked, and it pits two great immortal characters against each other in a face-off for the ages. Definitely check this issue out!

See you at Haven!
