52 Week #2 – DC’s new weekly series kicks into week 2; the first issue gave us a few surprises, and this one will no doubt give us some more. The story is being told in a format similar to the TV hit 24, with day-by-day coverage of what happens to the world after Infinite Crisis. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman go missing for a year, but Clark Kent shows up in the first issue?! What gives?!

Moon Knight #2 – That’s right! Now we get to see where this story is really going. The first issue was a really fast-paced read that held your attention and then kicked you in the gut with the final few pages. I can’t wait to see where the second issue goes! Dave Finch’s artwork is gorgeous, and, so far, the story has me on the edge of my seat. This book is a definite must-read.

Ms. Marvel #3 – At the end of the 2nd issue, Ms. Marvel was beating up on The Brood, that nasty race of aliens that always likes to attack the X-Men, and trying to figure out what they were doing here. Well, they were trying to save their species by tricking a practically indestructible alien creature whose been hunting them into blowing himself to pieces – the only trouble is, that’ll pretty much take all of earth with it. Ms. Marvel is, well, going to try to stop him from doing that. For all our sakes, I hope she makes it.

Wolverine Origins #2 – Since House of M, Logan has all his memories back. All of them. He remembers things that he desperately wishes he could forget…and he’s been around a long time, so there are plenty of those things. This series chronicles the story of James Howlett/Logan/Wolverine from the days of the original Origin mini-series up until he runs into a great big green guy called Hulk in the Canadian woods. Any Wolverine fan worth his salt will be reading this book.

Wonderland #1 – SLG has given us a couple of Disney-inspired titles lately: Haunted Mansion and Tron. Wonderland is their latest Disney offering. We all know what happened to Alice in Wonderland – well, Alice wasn’t the only person to ever end up in the wacky world. This series charts the adventures of another young girl caught in Lewis Carroll’s bizarre Wonderland. All you Disney fans are going to want to check this out!

X-Men: Fairy Tales #1 – DC had the corner on the Elseworlds market several years ago, but they’re not the only ones who know how to do cool alternate reality stories. This is the story of the X-Men as told in Japanese folk lore. This is definitely a take you’ve never seen before, but I must admit that it looks really good. I haven’t gotten to read it yet, obviously, but I can vouch for the artwork; it’s gorgeous.

See you at Haven!
