Astonishing X-Men #17 – After the events of last issue, I’m glad this one doesn’t have a three month wait before showing up on the shelves! I’m itching to read this issue! What’s going on with the White Queen?! Wolverine, snap out of it! The Blue Moose? Better watch out for that…

Blade #1 – Tied in to the very successful (and surprisingly good) new TV show, this new ongoing series features everyone’s favorite vampire hunter doing what he does best: kicking vampire booty and leaving a cloud of ash in his wake. Give this one a look-see; if it’s anywhere near as good as the TV show, it’ll be well worth picking up!

Civil War #4 – At long last, the fourth issue! It’s only 2 months behind, people. Anyway, it’s coming in and it’s going to be H U G E. I recommend you pick it up immediately.

Civil War: Amazing Spider-Man – Decisions – Spider-Man has clearly been debating his role in this war ever since he revealed his identity to the world, and what he thought was a simple, cut-and-dried decision has turned out to be anything but. Now he’s got to reevaluate things and figure out what he wants to do…

Moon Knight #5 – Alright, I was wrong in my lead-in to the last issue. Moon Knight didn’t actually clean anyone else’s clock, but as the issue ended, his own clock was getting a pretty thorough going over. This issue, I guess we’ll see what the new and improved Moon Knight is really made of – so far, each issue of this book has been a tease; I’m really hoping the big payoff comes soon, because constantly being left hanging is starting to wear a little thin.

Union Jack #1 – Anyone who has been reading Captain America lately is going to want to read the new Union Jack series. It spins directly out of this most recent Cap story, and it will feature similar writing and artwork – in other words, it’s going to be really, really good. I can’t wait to check it out!

Wetworks #1 – Remember when Image first formed and changed the world of comic books? Well, Wetworks was supposed to be one of the flagship titles, and even managed to get an issue or two out before the creator was deported. Well, now he’s back and so is his book. This time around, it’s being published by DC/Wildstorm, and it’s coming out along with new versions of WildCATS, Gen 13, and Storm Watch. Is the world ready for Image: The Reimagining?!?!

X-Men: First Class #1 – That’s right; this 8-issue limited series is about the original band of merry mutants, and all indications are that this book will set a new benchmark for the X-titles. Remember when Beast was just a bulky looking, incredibly acrobatic guy? When Iceman looked more like a snow-man? When Cyclops was nicknamed Slim because he was really, really skinny? Well, this series is set back in those days, and it promises to be very, very, very good. If you’re an X-fan of any stripe, you’re going to want to read this!

As a bonus this week, here are some of the announcements Marvel just made at the Baltimore Comic Con this past weekend:

*Three words: World War Hulk…okay, here are a few more words….by Greg Pak and John Romita Jr.

*Spider-Man will once again don his black costume…Back in Black. ?!?!?!?!??!!?!?!??!?!?

*Spider-Man Reign – a four issue mini-series by Kaare Andrews, including the now infamous Spider-Man grave image.

*Thor will return in a new ongoing series…by J. Michael Straczynski.

*Marvel Illustrated line, the first of which will be The Last of the Mohicans.

*Annihilation spinoffs including a new Nova series, Heralds of Galactus, a Quasar limited series, and more!

*Alan Davis remains Marvel exclusive and will bring back Clan Destine.

*From the pages of Runaways come the Loners!
