Athena Voltaire: Collected Web Comics TP – Before becoming the book we all enjoy reading, Athena Voltaire was only available online. This is the first time her web comics have seen the light of day in a printed format, and you can pick up the further adventures of Athena Voltaire in one easy-to-read volume. Can’t beat that!

Black Coat: Call to Arms TP – This is the collected edition of the hit Black Coat mini-series that came out earlier this year. Black Coat is a Revolutionary War era Batman, more or less, and it’s a great read. I highly recommend this book!

Civil War: War Crimes 1-Shot – The Kingpin is in jail, and he’s not too happy to be there; so he proposes a deal to Iron Man: Kingpin will use his underground network to locate Captain America and his anti-registration team…in exchange for a deal. Iron Man has already shown a willingness to deal with the nastiest sorts of criminals (see Warren Ellis’ new Thunderbolts next month!). Will he make a deal with the devil or will he do the right thing?

Iron Man/Captain America: Casualties of War 1-Shot – In the midst of Civil War, Captain America and Iron Man meet secretly, one last time, to see if there’s any hope of working things out before further tragedy occurs. Don’t miss this oversized special that reveals how these two men, once the closest of friends and staunchest of allies, could end up leading opposing armies in the conflict tearing apart the Marvel Universe!

New Avengers: Illuminati #1 (of 5) – Iron Man, Captain America, Professor X, Namor, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, and Black Panther began meeting in secret after the Kree/Skrull War threatened to destroy the earth. Their hope was to have an organized response in the event another, similar threat loomed in the future. They ended up becoming a secret cabal, and the blame for this entire Civil War can be laid at their feet. They were also behind the idea of sending Hulk to outer space; so there’ll be hell to pay when he gets back too. Their attempts to play God catch up with them as you witness what has, until now, been the secret history of the Marvel Universe.

Ultimate Spider-Man #103 – The penultimate chapter in this latest chapter of Ultimate Spider-Man! Everything builds to a heart-pounding crescendo in this issue, followed by the last chapter in Bendis and Bagley’s record-breaking, double-sized conclusion in issue #104. This story has been a mind-trip, no doubt: with Peter Parker’s dad showing up, apparently alive and well, with various whacked-out version of his clones showing up, with Mary Jane getting juiced with Green Goblin serum, and Gwen Stacy coming back from the dead. I can’t wait to see where this one turns up! Definitely get in on this if you’re not reading it already!

Walk-In #1 - Do you experience missing time? Predict strangers' dreams? Do twins seem to follow you wherever you go? And to you sometimes see cephalopods attached to other people without their knowledge? Don't worry, you're not going mad... yet! You're simply a Walk-In! Last week Ian Dormouse was a shifty vagrant who sleepwalked through life. Now he's The Dream King, the most enigmatic mystic in Moscow's underground Burlesque scene! And he's not paranoid - strange and evil men really are following him. Does Ian actually have special powers, and can a group of strippers keep him alive? Sounds weird, I know, but all of the Virgin Comics titles (think Virgin Airlines or Virgin Records, folks – same group!) have been well worth checking out. Give this one a try!
