Annihilation #5 – All I can say about this series is that I have liked it a LOT. This is the way big cosmic stories should be told! If you’re not reading this title; it’s not too late – this is one heck of transgalactic war zone, and it’s a great story!

Astonishing X-Men #19 – Joss Whedon and John Cassaday’s final Astonishing arc begins in this issue! Do I need to say more?! This is gonna rock the house.

Boys #6 – The outlandishness continues! Garth Ennis said he was going to out-Preacher Preacher in this series, and it’s clear that he’s really giving Preacher a run for his money. This story is incredibly violent, mind-warpingly twisted, and impossible to put down. If you’re any kind of Garth Ennis fan, you’re going to want to check this book out.

Hedge Knight Premiere HC Variant Edition – George RR Martin’s Hedge Knight tale is back in a beautiful hardcover format. If you haven’t read this story yet, this is a phenomenal way to pick it up! This is the beginning of the story of Dunk, a poor hedge knight, how he meets the young squire Egg, who is more than he appears to be, and what happens to them. Dabel Brothers will be putting out the next Dunk & Egg tale, The Sworn Sword, sometime in 2007! Make sure you’re on the list for it!

Immortal Iron Fist #2 – The first issue was awesome, showing how far back the Iron Fist legent goes and bringing the story up to date at the same time. Expect more of the same in the second issue, with that same beautiful artwork by Aja.

Jack of Fables #6 – Having flown the coop and made a daring getaway from Revise, Jack and all his fellow escapees are on the lam a la The Great Escape. Sounds weird, but this rated R fairy tale, WWII POW escape movie comic book is one heck of a spin-off from the hugely popular (for good reason) Fables. Highly Recommended!

Ultimate Power #3 – This high-powered meeting between the characters of the Ultimate universe and the Supreme Power universe ramps up in this issue. The Supreme Power folks are a little peeved that Reed Richards, without knowing about it, apparently doomed their universe to destruction; so they’ve come to his to get a little payback. Mmm, mmm. This is some good stuff!

What If?! – Two What Ifs?! Are shipping this week, and, for once, they both look awesome. One deals with the classic Age of Apocalypse, and the other with Ed Brubaker’s Deadly Genesis limited series that led directly into his taking over the Uncanny X-Men title. Look for both of these books to fly off the shelves; so grab them up fast! And if you missed X-Men: Deadly Genesis the first time, well it’s coming in this week in Trade Paperback, so you can catch up on it now! I love it when a plan comes together.

Winter Soldier Kills 1-Shot CW – If last week’s two Civil War 1-Shot tie-in events are any indication, this story should be excellent. Curious to see where Bucky comes into this story? Will he side with his former mentor, Captain America, or have his years of brainwashing put him more in Iron Man’s camp? Guess we’ll find out in this issue, because Marvel isn’t spilling the beans. Definitely check this out!!

See you at Haven!
