Astonishing X-Men #20 – Is Colossus truly going to destroy the Breakworld, or is he going to be destroyed instead? That’s pretty much what this story arc is boiling down to. C’mon, guys – can’t we all just be friends?! As always, expect this Joss Whedon/John Cassaday collaboration to be awesome!

Batman #663 – After a pretty pedestrian fill-in story arc by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake, Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert are back on the Dark Knight. Welcome them back by swinging in and seeing where in the world their story is going to go now. I, for one, can’t wait.

Forgotten Realms: Streams Silver #1 – These Forgotten Realms books almost always manage to slip by me somehow, and we’re out of the first issue by the time I get a chance to read it. No more! These books have been surprisingly good – so if you’re a D&D Forgotten Realms fan, you’re definitely going to want to pick up the first issue of this newest limited series.

Hellshock Definitive Edition vol 1 TP – If you’re a fan of Jae Lee’s artwork, then this book is definitely for you. Hellshock is Jae Lee’s original creation from the mid-nineties, and it’s a fine showcase for his beautiful art. The story isn’t going to win any awards, but this is a gorgeous prequel to the highly stylized art style Jae Lee has developed in recent years. Check it out!

Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere TP – If you couldn’t stand the monthly release of this 9-issue limited series, then the suspense is over now – the Trade is here! As always, Neil Gaiman’s work is a real mind-twist, but it’s brilliant and fun too. Glenn Fabry isn’t my favorite artist, but his work in this book is adequate to the task. This is a definite must-read for any Neil Gaiman fan!

Thunderbolts #111 – Warren Ellis and Mike Deodato Jr. continue their intriguing new take on the Thunderbolts, and God only knows where this is going – somewhere unpleasant, most likely, knowing Warren Ellis. At any rate, this book about villains earning a shot at redemption by taking on the Unregistered Combatants on Captain America’s side in this Civil War is spectacular. Definitely check this one out!

Thunderbolts Presents: Zemo, Born Better #1 – Baron Zemo, former psycho villain famous for his utter destruction of the Avengers (one of the best Avengers stories ever!), had a change of heart, left his life of crime, and led the original Thunderbolts team. This 4-issue limited series, with excellent art by a more mature Tom Grummet, delves into Zemo’s past, showing us how he got to be the way he is and where he comes from. I’m definitely looking forward to this.

See you at Haven!
