Bomb Queen III #1 – The Bomb Queen is a fun super-hero romp, featuring a heroine with bombs and a bad attitude – not a particularly good combination, at least not if you get on the wrong side of her. She’s had a couple of limited series out before, and if you’ve heard of her but never had a good chance to jump in on this title, now’s your chance. Give it a shot.

Civil War: Initiative – Okay, the Civil War is over, but the story is really just starting. Now Tony Stark, as head of SHIELD, is establishing a government licensed super-hero team in every single state of the nation (Does Idaho really need one?). Eventually, if Marvel isn’t too short-sighted, you know this is going to turn into a totalitarian government and these teams are going to turn into super-powered enforcers. Thank God for the underground heroes still holding out!

Dynamo 5 #1 - Dynamo 5 - the team - is made up of the illegitimate sons and daughters of Captain Dynamo, the recently deceased super-hero who saw his life come to an end in the pages of "Noble Causes." The five kids, who each inherited one of their father's powers, were brought together by Captain Dynamo's widow to defend Tower City against his enemies, who've descended upon the city en masse. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?!

Dark Tower: Gunslinger Born #2 (of 7) – The first issue of this series flew off the shelves, and I expect the rest to do the same. Peter David’s adaptation of Steven King’s best-selling series, combined with Jae Lee and Richard Isanoves’s breathtaking art, is one of the more incredibly put together comics stories to come along in quite a while. You’re definitely going to want to pick this up. Come and get it!

Marvel Zombies/Army of Darkness #1 – Someone, somewhere, is brilliant. Whoever thought of pitting the cult classic Army of Darkness character of Ash against the surprise hit of last year’s comics crop, the Marvel Zombies, deserves all kinds of praise. This series is going to be outrageous, no doubt about that, but it’s also going to be riveting. Better get your hands on this one quick!

Mighty Avengers #1 – In the aftermath of Civil War, there will be two teams calling themselves Avengers. Luke Cage will continue to lead the New Avengers, Cap’s team, as an anti-registration, underground team. Iron Man will lead the pro-registration Mighty Avengers, who make their debut in this issue. These two groups will obviously operate independently of one another, but it’s going to be interesting to see what happens when they butt heads. Both Avengers books will be written by Brian Michael Bendis, and Mighty Avengers will feature the popular art of Frank Cho. Definitely check this one out!

Sheena Preview - Thought lost in a plane crash, the girl that would be known as Sheena, the powerful and beautiful Queen of the Jungle, defied logic, and not only survived, but thrived in the wilds of South America. Now an adult, she is discovered and brought back to civilization…where the war for supremacy truly begins! Sheena is back, and ready for the 21st century! Welcome to the jungle! The first female comic book character to be featured in her own title RETURNS! And you can get your hands on the preview of this book for a mere 99 cents. The guys at Devil’s Due Publishing know what they’re doing; so give it a once-over; it ought to be a fun read!

See you at Haven!
