Countdown Arena #1 (of 4) - Spinning out of Countdown, the series will feature Monarch (Nathaniel Adam) as he organizes battles among various versions of characters from the 52 Earths of the Multiverse. He will then add those he deems worthy to his army, in preparation for his battle against the Monitors.

Giant Size Marvel Books – Marvel is introducing Giant Size collections of stories, basically mini-trades, of many of their more family friendly titles. These are a great way to introduce new readers to some great comics without having to drop a lot of cash. Definitely check this out, folks! Christmas is coming, you know!

Infinite Horizon #1 (of 6) - Image presents a re-imagining of The Odyssey: A soldier's long journey home after years of war in the Middle East. In the not-too-distant future a small group of abandoned soldiers are lead home by one man: The Captain. To get back he will have to cross half the globe and endure deadly encounters with many enemies including the Cyclops, and the Sirens...but first he will have to survive the final hours of the war!

Northlanders #1 – This is a Vertigo title. It’s about Vikings. It’s cool. Set in 980 AD, Sven, a Viking guarding Constantinople, grows tired of the Byzantine court and decides to go home and reclaim his place among his people. Of course, when he gets there – it’s been a long time – the people in his place are a little loath to give it up. If you like Vikings and really amazing art, this is the book for you.

Twelve #0 - This preview comic features the origin stories of Golden Age greats “Rockman” from USA Comics #1 (August 1941) by Charles Nicholas and Basil Wolverton and the never-before-reprinted “Laughing Mask” by Will Harr and Maurice Gutwirth from Daring Mystery Comics #2 (February 1940) and Phantom Reporter by Mike Robard and Sam Cooper from Daring Mystery Comics #3 (April 1940) along with character sketches and preview pages of the new series The Twelve, by J. Michael Straczynski with art by Chris Weston. If you’re a sucker for Golden Age superheroics, you’ll definitely want to take a look at this series!

Ultimates 3 #1 (of 5) – It’s the Ultimates. It’s Jeph Loeb and, wait for it, Joe Maduriera. Yeah, remember him? It’s been a while, a meager 10 years or so, but he’s back now and ready for action. Hot on the heels of Ultimates II, this series is getting rave reviews from those jerks lucky enough to receive preview issues. This one is a must!

World War Hulk: Aftersmash - The Hulk came back to Earth and made a HUUUUUUUUGE mess. Who's S.H.I.E.L.D. gonna get to clean it up? Damage Control, the roughest, toughest dilapidated dirt dogs this side'a the universe. If anyone can clean up the aftereffects of World War Hulk, they can. But while they're picking up the pieces, they find that the war...may not be over...

See you at Haven!
