Dan Dare #1 (of 7) - Virgin Comics is bringing Dan Dare: Pilot of the Future out of retirement to star in a new line of comics and a big-screen adaptation. Variety reports that the classic British science fiction character is a favorite of Virgin’s Richard Branson, who spearheaded the effort to acquire publishing, film, television and video game rights to the Frank Hampson creation. The new comic, which debuts in November, will be written by Garth Ennis. “Dan Dare is the quintessential British hero,” Ennis tells the trade paper. “He’s our Captain America, our Superman, our Batman; he’s all of them rolled into one.” Dare first appeared in April 1950 in the Eagle weekly comics.

Marvel Atlas #1 (of 2) - It’s the time of year when everyone wants to go on vacation—and what better place than the Marvel Universe? In the double-sized Marvel Atlas #1 (of 2), Marvel’s first-ever official atlas, your favorite MU locations are in the spotlight! The splendor of Dr. Doom's Latveria! The wonders of Muir Island! The glory of Silver Sable's homeland Symkaria! The urban squalor of Madripoor! The underwater marvels of Lemuria! With art from legend Eliot R. Brown (Punisher Armory, Iron Manual), this is the Marvel Universe like you’ve never seen it before!

Masked Magician One Shot - Nine thousand years ago an object of great power fell to Earth - a simple statue. The men who tried to wield it were granted temporary prosperity, but soon, having upset the delicate balance of the world, they received the terrible consequences, and their kingdom came to ruin. A special Society was formed to protect mankind from the statue's power.

Mercenaries #1 - The best-selling video game from Pandemic Studios is the next new Dynamite Entertainment comic book event! Get ready to join up with the MERCENARIES! Mercenaries the game has revolutionized the world of 3rd-person action-shooters by putting players in the middle of real world combat with the kind of freedom only a mercenary has. And now DYNAMITE'S MERCENARIES places you in the middle of the action.

Sensational Spider-Man #41 (OMD) - The most-talked about - and controversial - comic event of the year continues, brought to you by J. Michael Straczynski and Joe Quesada! Brace yourself, Spidey fans, after this, nothing will be the same for Peter Parker! The stakes have never been higher. At his darkest hours - and he's had plenty - Peter has always had one shoulder to lean on, one person who'd remind him who he is, who he was, and who he can be. Now he's about to lose that person. What would he do...what would you do, if you only had One More Day? Been wondering where the heck this book has been? Yeah, so has everyone else. I guess Marvel wants to drag this one more day out a bit.

See you at Haven!
